Human Rights in Ireland

Join us on August 20 for a Workshop on Human Rights in Ireland

On August 20 2010 HRinI will host an afternoon workshop to celebrate our first birthday. The event is run with the much-appreciated support of the Public Interest Law Alliance (www.pila.ie) on rights, advocacy and engagement.  The workshop will be focused on the ways in which NGOs, practitioners, social activists, academics, the media (‘new’ and ‘traditional’) and others interact in the areas of rights promotion, awareness, enforcement, protection and discourse.

The event will have three themes: ‘Ideology and Rights’, ‘Rights, Society and Interaction’ and ‘Media and Rights Engagement’. The programme for the event is here: Seminar Programme.

Unfortunately the ‘in person’ seminar is now full. However, in order to maximise the number of people who can participate and benefit from the workshop, we plan to webcast and liveblog the event. The webcast and the liveblog will be available here at www.humanrights.ie on August 20 from 1.15 pm until 4.45 pm. Twitter users will also be able to comment on the event and ask questions as they watch. The hashtag will be #hrinilive.
