Rape Crisis Network of Ireland Launch New Smartphone App
The Rape Crisis Network of Ireland (RCNI) recently launched an iphone and Android App for smartphones. These high quality apps contain useful information, support, contact details and links about sexual violence and are free to download. Please see here to download the App. This App is a very innovative method of disseminating important information and it should be widely circulated and downloaded. The App puts really useful information in the palm of victims of sexual violence and can assist people in talking to and supporting a friend that confides in them. The App provides the following type of information, which will be completely up-to-date:
- How can I help if someone tells me about an assault?
- Who are the professionals and services that are out there to lend support?
- How can my friend or I contact them?
- What is the law?
- What happens if someone goes to the Gardaí?
- Is there specialist medical care nearby?
- How can you help make it safer for everyone?
This innovative RCNI project was supported by Cosc: The National Office for the Prevention of Domestic, Sexual and Gender-based Violence and Glandore Systems who provided technical expertise in developing the App.

Amnesty have also launched an app that can help you to stop human rights abuses.
